ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It is a method of understanding behavior and using effective teaching techniques to address problematic behaviors while improving functional and socially appropriate behaviors. At The Learning Tree ABA, we use a “natural environment teaching” approach, using ABA techniques in the context of the child’s everyday life settings. Our trained therapists apply the methods of ABA in a fun and engaging way to encourage maximum participation and learning.

Q: What is autism spectrum disorder (ASD)?

ASD is a condition characterized by deficits in 3 primary areas: social skills, speech and nonverbal communication, and restrictive/repetitive behaviors. Although these are known as the “core deficits” of autism, ASD actually encompasses a very broad range of symptoms and can look very different from one individual to another. Each individual with ASD has distinct strengths and challenges and addressing an individual’s challenges requires a plan customized to that individual.

Q: Who can receive ABA therapy from The Learning Tree ABA?

Any child between 18 months and 21 years old with a qualifying autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis may be eligible for our ABA therapy services. Our intake coordinator is available to answer your questions about eligibility and to discuss if our services are right for your child.
